The trunks and corresponding tree parts adjust their length and curvature due to various factors, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Water status (short to medium term)<\/li>\n<li>Wind direction and speed (short-term to permanent)<\/li>\n<li>Snow and fruit load (medium to permanent)<\/li>\n<li>Unbalanced growth or loss of crown parts (long-term to permanent)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Monitoring vertical changes, along with directional information, provides valuable insights for assessing the water status and static properties of the tree (stress-strain relationship, mechanical load\/stability, etc.).
