Specialized Design for Fruit and Vegetable Measurement

DF dendrometers are specifically designed to measure fruits of various sizes and shapes. This design allows for stable attachment of the fruit within the dendrometer frame without affecting its growth. Depending on the model and installation conditions, the dendrometer frame can be flexibly attached to the branch or vine supporting the fruit. This prevents strain on the branch or vine, avoiding damage to the fruit being measured.

Available Models

The DF series includes four different models:

• DF5 and DF6: These models feature a fruit holder for quick installation, allowing the fruit to be easily positioned and measured. Growth is measured directly without any mechanical amplification of the measurement range (11 mm for DF5 and 25 mm for DF6). The data collected is accurate to the nearest micrometer, making these models ideal for monitoring even the smallest growth responses.

• DF4: This model uses a completely different measurement method. Instead of being secured in a frame, the fruit is held in a movable jaw. The benefits of this jaw design include quick and easy installation, along with a significantly increased measurable range of up to 130 mm. This range is suitable for many types of fruit, allowing for maintenance-free measurement throughout the entire growth and ripening process

Limitations

• Not suitable for very soft fruits (e.g., ripe raspberries).

Specific to DF5 and DF6 Models:

• Direct micrometer-precise measurement of fruit growth, without mechanical amplification of the corresponding measurement range (11 mm for DF5 and 25 mm for DF6).
• DF6 offers an extended measurement range, reducing the need for frequent adjustments for fast-growing species.

Specific to DF4 Model:

• Mechanically increased measurement range up to 130 mm, maintenance-free measurement (no adjustments needed) throughout the entire fruit formation process.

• DF4: Easy installation and maintenance-free measurement through the jaw mechanism, with a large 130 mm measurement range, suitable for large and fast-growing fruits (e.g., apples, oranges, peaches, tomatoes).
• DF5: 11 mm measurement range for small fruits (e.g., cherries, grapes).
• DF6: 25 mm measurement range for medium-sized, fast-growing fruits (e.g., plums, nuts, mandarins, apricots).
